Who We Are
Tuggerah Veterinary Clinic has been caring for pets, wildlife and (occasionally) livestock on the NSW Central Coast since 1999. Our team of 2 full-time veterinarians and 7 veterinary nurses is committed to providing a friendly, caring and professional veterinary service.

The clinic is open between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm on weekdays, and in the morning on weekends. On weekdays, our morning consultations are scheduled before 11:00 am and our afternoon consults after 4:00 pm. This allows us time to perform surgery and other in-patient procedures in the middle of the day.

Our normal consultation hours are as follows:

Mon – Fri8:30am – 11:00 am4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Saturday8:30 am – 12:00 noonClosed
Sunday9:30 am – 11:00 amClosed

Please call (02) 4353 9414 to make an appointment.

Making an appointment will help us to minimise your waiting time, and thereby lessen any stress felt by your pet during his/her visit. Walk-in patients are generally seen after scheduled appointments. However, emergency cases are given priority and will be attended immediately. While we make every effort to keep appointments running on time, complicated or emergency cases can sometimes result in delays, and your patience at these times is appreciated.

Home and farm visits can also be arranged, and incur an additional travel fee. Please note that in many cases we would prefer to see your pet at the clinic, where we have full access to all staff and equipment. You may want to consider a (non-affiliated) pet taxi service if you are having difficulty transporting your pet.

All dogs must be restrained on a leash and all cats (and other pets) restrained in an appropriate carrier prior to entry into the clinic. This is for the safety of patients, clients and staff. Leashes and carriers are available for loan/hire if you have not brought your own.

Animals Treated

The majority of our patient load consists of companion animals – dogs and cats. We also treat a variety of exotic pets (including birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, mice and rabbits), and perform a limited amount of large animal work.  Native animals will also be treated before being released to WIRES for rehabilitation.

After-Hours Emergencies & Public Holidays

In the event of an emergency outside of our normal opening hours, please phone the Animal Emergency Centre Central Coast (AEC), which can be reached at (02) 4323 3886. The AEC is located at Home Central Shopping Centre, Unit 8a 356 Manns Road, West Gosford NSW 2250. Please note that this is for emergencies only and an after-hours surcharge will apply.
We are not open on public holidays.

Stray or Lost Animals
Stray or lost animals will be treated in an emergency. We can also scan lost pets for a microchip and attempt to contact their owners. However, if an owner cannot be located then we do not have the authority to hold them (unless there is a medical reason to do so), and they should be taken directly to the pound.
If you find a stray domestic animal outside of normal opening hours, you can take it directly to Wyong Shire Council Animal Care Facility, which is located off Depot Road in Charmhaven. After-hours cages are available for the safe housing of strays until the facility reopens. For more details, please visit their website: http://www.wyong.nsw.gov.au/my-community/animal-care-facility/
